Is trout fishing only good the day they stock it?
Posted by admin
I do fish occasionally but not for trout. Typically is the pound empty a few days after they stock?
Of course every pound is different but what has been your experience.
My experience with hatchery trout is more than likely different from yours. I’ll explain in a bit.
My experience with hatchery trout is pretty much the same with every planting… they bite well from the moment they leave the truck to about a week or 2 afterward, when they either all get caught or they discover deeper water and head for it.
When I stated My experience with hatchery trout is different than yours, I meant that I don’t necessarily fish FOR the trout. I will have a line out for them with some type of bait, but I will also have a longer, heavier baitcasting rod rigged up with a 8 to 12 inch swimbait that looks like one of those hatchery trout. See, I’m after the bass that chase and feed on those trout. These bass aren’t small either.

Is it necessary to cure salmon eggs for fishing?
Posted by admin
Me and my buddy are going out fishing on the weekend. He got some salmon eggs today and we are going to use the spawning sack with the magic thread. Do we have to have it cured to work? And if so why.
Thanks
absolutely no.
the very best choice would be for fresh roe.
curing them is for keeping them over a longer period of time. it may toughen them up a bit better also… some people may like that… but if you loop the egg skein through the loop on the hook (l haven’t used fresh roe for over 35 years… we tied our line below the single barb of our hook with a snell knot. it left a loop between there and the eye that we would pass our skein through and wrap it a couple times. current would hold the loop taut to hold the eggs on.) if you’re still using that sort of rig.
Where can i go fishing for salmon?
Posted by admin
I’m looking to go fishing for salmon. I live in Toronto Ontario. Whats the best places to go fishing for salmon now. I don’t have a boat so places that will let me fish from a dock or rocks would be good.
There are a few places around the GTA with salmon runs;they should be in the Credit River now-usually they start running there in late August-you can fish from shore or off the piers there.(if you don’t have a car the Port Credit Go station is just a stone’s throw from the mouth of the river mouth)
The Humber river also is popular-though not quite as good as the Credit.
Legal Sea Foods Salmon Confusion

Wild Alaskan Salmon sounds trendy. It actually is a preferred fish for salmon connoisseurs and health nuts. But I find a lot of places that like to mis-lead customers on use "Alaskan" when they shouldn't. Here was what happened at my last visit to Legal Sea Foods.
